To paraphrase an old expression, “you cannot manage what you cannot, or don’t, measure” is more true today than ever.  However, William Edwards Deming also said “that one of the seven deadly diseases of management is running a company on visible figures alone.”

Confusing, right?  Well, not really.  They are both right.  Decisions should be made using the greatest amount of information available.  Selecting the appropriate decision criteria and properly weighting them is paramount.

If your competition can do that faster than you… who is going to win?

For retailers it means working overtime to sell as much as they can to hit or exceed their revenue targets.  What about you?  Have you achieved your revenue targets?  If [...]]]> It's the holiday season. For many people it means gift shopping, holiday parties, time with friends and family, and maybe some well deserved time off.
